"It's a great pleasure to bring one of the finest documentary films to come out of World War II back to life for our fans. I have wanted to show this film for years, but copies were frankly inferior, and we have have only recently found  the right archival material and new restoration technology to issue a release I can be proud of." Zeno
"The True Glory" tells the breathtaking story of the Allied sweep across Northern Europe, seen through the lenses of hundreds of Combat Cameramen from the USA, Canada, France, Poland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Czechoslovakia, Norway, Great Britain, and captured German footage.  Legendary American Writer-Director Garsin Kanin ("Born Yesterday," "Adam's Rib," "Pat & Mike) teamed up with Oscar Award Winning Director Carole Reed (Oliver!, the third Man (nominee) and 3 time Oscar Winning writer Paddy Chayefsky (Marty, Network, The Hospital), reviewed thousands of hours of film and hundreds of pages of eye witness accounts and distilled them down to this fast moving, exciting and inspirational collection of some of the finest images, music & narration we have from World War II.

Supreme Allied Commander Gen. Dwight David Eisenhower introduces the theme of this picture in the memorable opening scene, "Teamwork Wins Wars."  Though only a few minutes long, this is one of Ike's finest addresses, including his Presidency. Close-ups reveal the weight and strain of carrying the fate of the Free World through the War years deeply etched on his face, but his forthrightness, determination, and confidence shine through. (We spent considerable effort to rescue this scene from a miserable sound track.) You'll see the strength in the man who held it all together.

"The True Glory" takes you through the major episodes of the northern European Campaign, starting with Invasion preparations, the D-Day Landings & consolidation, the capture iof Cherbourg, fighting in Caen, the Falaise breakout, the race to liberate France, Operation Market Garden, the French resistance Operations, retaking Antwerp & Brussels, the Battle of the Bulge, and the crossing of the Rhine and the final campaign into Germany to defeat the Nazi's. You'll see how diverse Allied land, sea, and Air Forces work together to defeat the enemy.  Literally hundreds of scenes are strung together seamlessly to tell the story along with the eyewitness narration, brought to life through the voices of a galaxy of fine British, American and European actors.

This is not just the masterful telling of a story of a generation that needs to be remembered and retold, it is an inspiration to us all. In these troubling times, this is a film that will give you strength, make you stand up and cheer and share with friends and family.
